2007 Pyramid Hill Semillon
Our Semillon vines thrive in the sandy soils along the banks of the
Goulburn River in the Upper Hunter Valley. Shallow rooted and
delicate, Semillon reacts quickly and dramatically to extremes of
weather. 2007 was a very dry year and these drought conditions
encouraged low crop level and exceptionally small berries with
intense flavour. The resulting wine has excellent balance and
structure and can be drunk now but will also develop further
character and complexity over the next few years.

2005
Pyramid Hill Shiraz
Our
Shiraz vines are grown on a slope of red clay overlooking the Goulburn
River in the Upper Hunter Valley. The natural resistance of the soil
makes the vines work hard for their water and nutrients, and this in
turn encourages the production of smaller berries and fruit of
intense flavour and colour. The dry conditions that characterized the
2005 vintage have resulted in a wine that, after maturing for 18
months in oak barrels, displays elegance and richness of both
structure and palate.
